We have made the disappointing decision to postpone the AIR:10K and Richmond Marathon events from March to: 15th/16th May with the 10K moving to Saturday 15th and the Marathon moving to Sunday 16th May. This does not affect our Olympic Trial Marathon and race walks happening on the 26th March.
Following consultation with our stakeholders we believe it's the right decision for our runners and local community to delay the event by 7 weeks. We are optimistic that the country will be in a better position with the continued vaccine roll-out.
We wanted to deliver this news to you as soon as possible and apologise wholeheartedly for the disappointment and timing of this decision. Our biggest challenge has been to secure an alternative date that didn't clash with all the heritage sites the event passes through. It is a relief to finally have this date but we're disappointed for our runners who we know have worked so hard and in the crucial phase of your training.
We hope you can re-channel your goals and this extra time frame can be turned into a positive, however if this doesn't work for you, please read the below carefully for your alternative options:
Every registrant will be automatically transferred to the new date in your chosen event so you do not need to do anything except put the new date in your diary!
(Please note we have reversed the AIR:10K to Saturday 15th and the Richmond Marathon to Sunday 16th May).
If you are not available for the new date, don't worry, please choose the following options:
Option 1. Transfer to our September events: the Kew Gardens 10K on 11th or the Richmond Half Marathon on 12th September (see transfer deadline below).
Option 2. *Defer your entry to any distance in our 2022 events.
*Please note the 2022 event dates and format is not yet confirmed so when dates are released, you will have the option to run the 10K, Half or Full (see deferral deadline below).
To transfer your race place to September or defer to 2022, please email us at: email@example.com with your full name, the email you registered with and include if you purchased an iTab or parking space so we can carry this forward to the next event.
Option 3. Run the event virtually this March and we will send you out your T-shirt and medla in the post.
If none of the highlighted options work for you then email us at the same address (see deadline below).
If you can't make the event in May, please email us your preferred option before 5pm on Monday 8th March (1 month time). After this date we are unable to make any changes and you will be automatically moved to the 15th May (for our AIR:10K runners) and the 16th May (for our Richmond Marathon runners).
