Richmond Half Marathon: SPRING 2021 (Date TBC)
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the postponement of the Richmond Half Marathon until Spring time in 2021 (Date TBC). We are planning to put on a socially distanced 10K inside Kew Gardens on the 12th/13th September. For more information, please .
We have been monitoring the ever-evolving situation around the Covid-19 pandemic and the latest government guidance day in, day out and we did everything we could. We have also hired expert data analysts, to try and put on the Marathon and Half events in a socially distanced way but unfortunately the structure of these races with them running outside of Kew Gardens, means we cannot socially distance these two events. Our overall priority is the safety and health of our runners, volunteers, staff, contractors and the local community.
We are currently awaiting final approval on the two 10K’s and as soon as we have this we will contact you immediately with a final update and the socially distanced measures we will be implementing.

"By far my best half marathon, fantastic quality race, great location and the overall event was very well organised. The medals and t shirts are amazing".
Run London's most exclusive race! The only time you can ever run in the World Heritage Site - Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew! Great medal, great goody bag, NIKE tech tee, music festival finish and a free beer!
The race will take runners on a scenic tour of Richmond, one of London's most appealing areas. It starts at Kew Botanical Gardens and finishes at Old Deer Park, via a scenic tour of Richmond Riverside and Ham House.
All on road and path inside Kew Gardens before running along the Thames Towpath. Please expect to run on flat path, road, gravel and grass during the 13.1 miles. The course is flat as a pancake.
Full professional cover in place throughout the course.
The entire course will be fully marshalled. Marshalls are volunteers so please say thanks to these amazing people!
A sweep Marshall will be present to assist athletes who do not complete the course and will be transported to the finish line.
We strongly advise all runners, regardless of which race you are competing in, to arrive more than 1 hour before your race. Friends and family who arrive late will have to pay a normal Kew Gardens ticket (visit Kew Gardens website for prices).
There are 4 drink stations (3.75 miles, 7.5 miles, 9 miles, 12 miles and at the finish)
Please take weekend public transport timetables and delays into consideration. There are facilities in Kew Gardens serving hot drinks and food so come early and enjoy the surroundings before your run.
