After being postponed in 2020 we are so excited to confirm the Kids' Mile in partnership with Children with Cancer UK will be back in Old Deer Park on the afternoon of Saturday 11th September!
To commemorate us uniting in an Olympic year, this years medal celebrates our Olympians and the Tokyo Olympics! Not only are we bringing back the joy of 2012 (that inspired the creation of this event) but we are also celebrating the privilege of being able to run together!
Registration for the Kids' Mile is now open and we are encouraging our Kids to raise whatever they can and all donations will go towards helping children with Cancer and their families beat this disease.
Did you know, every week in the UK more than 70 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer? With your help we’re hoping to raise £35,000 from this event and continue to raise money for sick children and continue their life-saving work.
If you wish to fundraise for Children with Cancer UK, click here to set up a fundraising page and support our vision of a world where no child dies of cancer.
A huge thank you to our charity Children with Cancer UK for their support and for bringing an exciting theme to this years Kids' Mile... Superheros!!!
Take on the Kid’s Mile Mini Superhero Challenge for Children with Cancer UK to raise funds and help save young lives! Every pound that you raise for us will help to fund even more life-saving research and keep more families together. We won’t stop until every child with cancer gets to ring the end of treatment bell.
You don’t have to run at the speed of light or fly like a bird to be a superhero – your superhero power is the change you will be making through supporting our fight against the injustice of childhood cancer!
To become a superhero, register to run the Kids' Mile, fundraise anything you can (click here to set up a fundraising page)and we will be there cheering you to the finish line. Any child who wears a superhero outfit for the run will get the BIGGEST cheers!

2020 Kids Mile Timetable - 2021 coming soon:
The festival is complete with live music, the Richmond Food & Fitness Expo and the Fuller’s bar (for the thirsty adults). We are delighted to have Brentford FC CST, Marathon Kids and Lions Sports Academy bringing a variety of multi-sport activities to entertain our kids throughout the afternoon.
Race packs must be collected on the day at the Kids Registration, located in Old Deer Park. Packet pick up will be open from 1pm to collect your child's race number and timing chip.
The start and finish is located towards the back of Old Deer Park. Head to the large race arch 10 minutes before the race where Lions Sports Academy will be holding a fantastic and fun warm up for the kids.
The 1 mile course starts and finishes in the same place and forms 2 loops around Old Deer Park. The 500m race (for our Reception - Year 2) is only 1 loop. For the safety of our Kids, parents are NOT permitted inside the course. If you want to run with your child please keep outside the course parameter.
Parents are NOT allowed in this area. Children will be handed back to parents at the end of the finishing shoot once their parent is identified. We ask parents to assist our staff by being patient during this time. No child will be permitted to leave the Safe Zone without their parent/guardian to collect them.
Don't leave it until race day. Why not participate in some fun Kids training sessions. The Stragglers hold Junior and Mini Handicap series once a month. Click here for more info. There is also the Bushy Junior Parkrun with a monthly 2km time trial!
We are really excited to partner with Skylarks to expand on our all-inclusive mile race for children with special needs in a friendly, non-competitive environment where every child is a winner and receives a finishers medal and prize at the end.
Skylarks is an independent Richmond-upon-Thames based charity that provides activities and therapies for children with disabilities and additional needs. They also support and provide therapies, courses and information for their whole families.
